In
2000, my daughter announced she was planning to get married. I thought how
great until she stated she wanted me to do all of the florals in silks. They
would be great mementoes - something I'll always have to remember my wedding
day. I panicked! She said Mom, "I know you can do it", packed her bags and
moved to St. Louis. Two years later, my daughter-in-law to be, asked me to do
the same. My background is interior design, but I found I truly enjoyed
arranging flowers. A year later, I opened Taylor Floral & Gifts.
When we moved to Indianola, I stopped in at Irving Elementary School
and visited with the principal about a possible teaching position. As luck
would have it, they were not hiring experienced teachers at the time. The
Principal has since retired and now works for me. It is interesting what turns
fate takes. I have wonderful employees and it truly is a joy to come to work
each day. So, thank you daughter and daughter-in-law!
